Talbot, by the way, is dating the vampire king of Mississippi. Other new vampires will include a looker named Franklin Mott, who takes a liking to Tara (Rutina Wesley). (Watch With Kristin)
If Alcide Herveaux, the werewolf introduced in Charlaine Harris’ Club Dead novel, is anywhere to be seen in the season-three premiere of True Blood, he’s hiding under an assumed name. We do, however, have a possible dog we can offer you. And no, not the misbehaving Lothario kind of dog, the shape-shifting-into-a-sweet-mutt kind of dog. In the season-three premiere, titled “A Pack of Wolves,” True Blood goes to Arkansas to find Sam Merlotte’s (Sam Trammell) long-lost little brother, Tommy Mickens, and we’re probably going to see Tommy’s naked rear end, since the casting call notes that butt nudity is required for the role. Eric’s latest lover is not going to be the telepathic Merlotte’s waitress but instead someone named Yvette, a Czech-born stripper at Fangtasia. Man, nobody’s going to like her one bit. Cast includes Jean Simmons, Champ Mature, Gene Tiemey, Michael Wilding, Bella Darvi, Peter Ustinov, Edmund Purdom, Judith Evelyn, Henry Daniell, John Carradine, and Tommy Rettig. (140 minutes, 1954)
Down in the Delta: With her life a mess and essentially no desiere to work, lone mother Woodard boards the bus with her 2 kids to spend the summer in the Mississippi Delta, living with family members and worlking in their restaraunt. Episodic drama recoups from awkward start to better points for utter likability. Woodard beams and Freeman gives one of the best acting jobs of his career. Cast includes Alfre Woodard, Al Freeman, Jr., Wesley Snipes, Mary Alice, Esther Rolle, and Loretta Devine. (111 minutes, 1998)
Alfredo Alfredo: All too normal Italian comedy in regards to a milque toast who triumphs and weds a seductive female, only to remorse his conquest. Lone interest is recognizing Hoffman's good work in this uncommon setting (with a dubbed voice!). Cast includes Dustin Hoffman, Stefania Sandrelli, Carla Gravina, Clara Colosimo, Daniele Patella, and Duilio Del Prete. (98 minutes, 1972)
Stand and Deliver: Olmos gives a powerful performance in this momentous drama as a hard, requesting professor who empowers his East L.A. barrio scholars to pass an Advanced Placement Calculus Quiz. That's only the beginning of this tale that is based on a true story. Cast includes Edward James Olmos, Lou Diamond Phillips, Andy Garcia, Can Gotay, and Ingrid Oliu. (105 minutes, 1987)
Kim: Exciting action film based on Kipling classic set in 1880s India, with British cadets combatting disobedient locals. Cast includes Errol Flynn, Dean Stockwell, Paul Lukas, Thomas Gomez, and Cecil Kellaway. 113 minutes, 1950)
The Vows: Astronomically pleasing story of an ambitious youthful Dubliner who takes on the task of constructing and managing a band made up of other Dubliners who harmonize '60s-type music! Disarmingly involving from the word go, with charismatic cast of unknowns, and the film is filled with irresistible music. This film is truly a genuine treat. Cast includes Robert Arkins, Michael Aherne, Angeline Ball, Maria Doyle, Dave Finnegan, Bronagh Gallagher, Felim Gormley, Glen Hansard, Dick Massey, Johnny Murphy, Kenneth McCluskey, Andrew Hefty, and Colm Meaney. Patton: Milestone in biographies finds Scott vivid as offbeat, radiant General George Patton, whose temper often interrupts with his request throughout WW2. Following: Fascinating ultra low spending limit precursor to Nolan's Souvenir, another nonlinear tale in regards to a youthful aimless guy who plans to follow individuals, just for the hell of it until one of his "subjects" turns the tables and tempts him into his own world, where he pillages vacant apartments and invades his victim's lives.
