Poker Star Tournament Schedule

Mon, 18 Jan 2010 20:12:58 +0000

If playing in live tournaments is your thing and you plan on making your way down to Vegas between the end of March and end of April, you may want to consider heading down to the Bellagio and jumping in on one of their legendary Five-Star World Poker Classic events. The schedule for the hotel/casino’s premiere poker series has just been announced and not without a hint of controversy. All 18 of the preliminary tournaments will have a $1,000 buy-in with rebuys. The move to include rebuys in all of the prelim events is quite a statement considering that only a handful of rebuy events were featured last year.

“We had some rebuy tournaments this time [2009 Five-Diamond World Poker Classic, and we had a very good response to them,” said Bellagio Tournament Director Jack McClelland. “What it does is it gives the players options. The players who can’t afford to play in a $5,000 event or a $3,000 event, they can afford to play in a $1,000 event and still take a shot at the big money. Now the players who can afford to and want to reload to super-size their stacks, they can do that, too. Now the guy with the silver bullet, the one $1,000 buy-in, he might not get there as often, but when he does he might pick up a quarter of a million dollars on his thousand, as opposed to $50,000-$60,000.”

The series will kickoff on March 30th and will run throughout April until it concludes with the World Poker Tour Championship event that starts on April 18th, with the winner of that tournament being crowned on April 24th. The WPT Championship will have a buy-in of $25,000 with $1,000 super-satellites. Here’s the schedule for the entire 5-Star Poker Classic series:

Oh god I'm stupid to even be writing this. I have so, so so much to do and so much on my mind and it's nearing 2:30 in the morning and I have to get up at six and write an outline and argumentation schedule for the essay I have to write tomorrow at nine, draw up the interview questions for the meeting with the company we've chosen for our strategic business plan and I have a party tomorrow night and jesus I'm just lacking energy, motivation and will, okay?

Let's take a look at my schedule for last week, this week and the next. Let's start at the very first day after the holidays.

Monday 4 January
09:30 Team meeting for Strategic Business Plan
11:00-13:00 College
13:00 Lunchdate with friend in town
14:30-16:30 College
18:00-19:30 Yoga
20:00 Dinner with friend
21:30 informal party/peg/nip/drop/whatever you weirdo english people call it when you stand around and have drinks and small food and talk

Tuesday 5
9:00-13:00 College
17:00 Dinner with my best friend from high school in a different town that took 1,5 hours of traveling, which was also very exhausting because everything with her seems to turn into a competition. Very subtly, who has the best life, the best town to study in, the best student association, the best outlook. It sucks.

Wednesday 6
13:00-14:30 College in Rotterdam
16:00 Doctor at home
17:30 Ad-walking for the commission- which means going in at every restaurant I see and asking them if they'd like to sponsor a free dinner for the winner of the poker tournament we're hosting in exchange for placing ads in our building. It's cold out.
21:00- Big openingparty (student association had winterrecess), theme Dead Celebs- woohoo Audrey Hepburn here- in Rotterdam

Thursday 7
7:30 Got at friend's home from the party. Slept on tiny couch.
9:30 Awoke.
13:00 Got home to start studying for test tomorrow. Had a rather long to-do list with work for my commission as well.
15:00-19:00 Slept.
20:00-22:00 Dancing class

Friday 8
15:45-17:00 Test. Didn't sleep all night to study for it. Ended up not even being able to make the stupid thing because the trains weren't driving because of the weather. Which means I went to the station (25 minutes biking), stood around waiting in the cold and could bike back for nothing. Fuck off with your snow.
19:00 Appointment with seamstress to make saree blouse for party granpa's next week.
00:00 By now I'd slept 6 hours in 52 hours.

Saturday 9
10:00 Preparations for my birthday party with friends, involving grocery shopping, cleaning, buying drinks, cooking, preparing snacks and driving people back and forth from the station because it's too long to walk.
17:00 Birthday party with friends, which was fun
04:30 Went to bed, some friends slept over

Sunday 10
11:00 Woke up to find the guys in the living room Wii-ing in their underwear. Lol.
18:00 Paraview market thing in a different town I ended up too late for due to trains again. Again, fuck you snow.

Monday 11
10:30 Went to bookshop to buy the new textbook for Japanese
11:00 -16:00 College
17:00 Deadline emailing in an assignment
17:00-20:00 Japanese
22:00 Deadline mailing the evaluation of my own things-to-do for the commission to the chairman. I'm a stupid person and always think it's fun to do a lot and be very active and stuff. It's a lot of work.

Tuesday 12
11:00-13:00 College
12:00 Deadline paying contribution for RSG
15:30 Get little brother from school
18:30 Having sushi with Japanese class
22:00 Poker round for the commission

Wednesday 13
9:00-10:45 Writing an essay which is kinda important and which I haven't read in for yet and which is DIFFICULT (unlike so many on here, I'm no writer) and sucks
14:00-16:00 College
16:00 Team meeting (not going to work, because)
16:25 Dentist appointment in freaking the Hague while I was in Rotterdam and am going to need to be in Rotterdam again because
19:30-21:30 Yoga (not going to work)
20:00 meeting at friend to prepare for party
21:30 First years's party at the student association, competing with our yearclubs and blabla

Thursday 14
9:00-10:45 College
15:00 Interview at the company for the business plan with their freaky strict CEO who has some extra demands for us as well other than what the uni wants from us
17:00 Fitting for the saree blouse for this saturday
18:00 (how am I even going to make this?) Conference commission
20:00-22:00 Dancing class, probably going to be late as the conferences are loooong.

Friday 15
Have to go to the nearest shopping mall and get myself a job at some restaurant or whatever.

Saturday 16
Party with family for my granddad's 75th birthday, which means they rented a ballroom and invited over 200 people. Probably going to spend the day making snacks like egg rolls and serving them to stuck up ugly dressed old people later.

Sunday 17
Blessed nothing

Monday 18
9:00 Team meeting
11:00-16:00 College
17:00-20:00 Japanese
21:30 Some very hard working for tomorrow

Tuesday 19
Deadline first assignment Strategic business plan
15:00 Deadline other assignment
16:00-00:00 First-years-cleaning day which is helping out at the student association building by serving dinner, cleaning up etc. Thank god it's not going to be possible because of there being a Members' Conference which means all the members of the student association can come and discuss going-ons there. I have to be there because the commission's policy is going to be presented.

Wednesday 20
9:00-10:45 College
12:00 Going to Starbucks with a friend. Keep in mind, we have like 2 Starbucks TOTAL in this bloody country, so we have to go to the airport to get it.
20:30 Beer tapping event with the tapcommission which I'm in as well. Thank god that commission doesn't mean any more work than just being bartender from time to time.

Thursday 21 AKA overlapping day (let's sort by importance)
18:30-20:00 Exam Statistics
17:00- 20:30 Conference
20:00-22:00 Dancing class
18:00- Meeting with the yearclub AKA eating pizza with friends and having fun
20:30 Poker round commission
22:00 STAR (study association- yes that's something different than the student thing I'm always talking about. That's like a Greek Letter association/fraternity, this is for all BA students. They apparently have the hugest and best parties in half of Europe.) New Year's party
- Urgh. How does this even work?

Friday 22
14:00-16:00 Presentation frist assignment strategic business plan (exactly when do I have time to prepare?)
Have to pick up some student chipcard somewhere to be able to use public transport free

Saturday 23
21:00 Party of two girls, absolutely have to be there because they're both members of a society (it's a sub-group of the student association, a closed all-girls group with as personality 'chique, tough and sexy' which means they're the gutsy girls with balls) I'd love to join and that they've invited is kinda a really big hint that they're thinking about asking me.

Sunday 24
Preparing for monday

Monday 25
REALLY big day for the commission- our Casino Night! I'm sure it's gonna be splendid but I'm already stressing over it and the preparations- oh god there's still so much left to DO.

And I'm stopping now because I'm sure there'll be more things to do added later.

As you maybe have been able to grasp from this little oversight, I'm really tired, cranky, stressed and losing ALL motivation for this fucking study that's not even nearly what I want to do in my life, it's explained why I rarely ever actually GO to those colleges anymore, my feet are cold, I really hate snow, I want someone to hold me despite being a icequeen, and oh did I say that the most things mentioned here are in Rotterdam which is ALWAYS 1 hour and 15 traveling with public transport (so you can add that up in front of all that stuff, especially when there's something to do there in the morning and again only at night so I have to go back and forth which means 5 hours of traveling alone which really SUCKS after some time), and I just spent another 1,5 hour on this stupid post that is not going to make anything better or make anyone reading it happy but did take away from my time to prepare for tomorrow so now it's 4 in the morning and I have to get up at six and still haven't done anything useful yet and I still need to go shower and wash my hair so that was a stupid move as well but oh what can I do

I'm just a self-destructive stupid little girl after all.
